The school had a specific issue that needed a fast and effective solution. Children were falling and hurting themselves on an old uneven rockery and large unsafe border kerbstones. We were contracted to carryout the works within half term to keep any possible disruption to a minimum.
First job was to lift and remove 20m of old dangerous kerb stones from site. The subsurface was prepared and hardcore was compacted. We then supplied and fitted 20m concrete pin kerbs which were cemented in place and all edges were repaired with new tarmac.
We also lifted 8sqm of old uneven paving slabs from an unused and dangerous corner rockery and laid new open grade tarmac once we had levelled the base with hardcore. This returned a once forgotten and unused area back to the school as a useful extension to the playground.
Finally, we carried out a deep clean of the area and cleared all pathways of old rubbish and leaves ready for kids to play out safely again.
